My Adventure with the United States Navy ‘Leaders To Sea’ Program

I found a video from a few years back when I was lucky enough to be chosen for a Navy program called “Leaders To Sea”. They invite a few people to fly out to an aircraft carrier and spend the weekend with the Navy.

As the Navy puts it: This program is designed for people who are active and influential in business, government or the community, as well as people who are active communicators and opinion leaders.

In my case, I landed on the USS Reagan in the Pacific ocean where I got my first and only, ‘trap’ [often-used slang for an arrested landing]. I spent the weekend on the ship, met the Admiral, Captain, pilots and sailors.

On the final day, I got to catapult off of the ship. If you have never done it, you go from zero to about 140 MPH in about 2.5 seconds.

It was a great adventure and trip of a lifetime for me. The most impressive part was the people. There are about 5,000 people on the carrier, they each know what their job is and they do it well! Everything runs smoothly.

Quite a thing to see. Take a look at the videos and enjoy! Go NAVY!
